NetworkActiv Web Server version 4.0 is under development and NetworkActiv would like to know what features users would most like to see in this (or a further) new version.
Please select an option in the poll, and feel free to post replies with features not mentioned in the poll and/or other suggestions.

I voted for SSL, as i think thats a really awesome thing, having a https encrypted server...
Having Users and Groups based access control would also be a cool and useful feature.

| Even if you were able to change the configuration or folders to share from the remote administration console. Probably not possible and maybe a security issue but just a suggestion |

I voted for User & Group access control. I'd like to see control taken down to the individual directory and/or file level.
I am running two separate servers, on different ports, on my machine. I'd rather just run NAWS, but I need access to one directory controlled and NAWS doesn't provide that level of control.
I do like the IP address access control. No username/password pair to guess or be shared. |

| I also voted for users and groups access controls. For instance, i have NA set up on my fileserver at home. Well, friends i have constantly ask for some of my files.....so i give them the login to my web server. However, i also have copyrighted stuff on there too that i don't want people illegally copying...not to mention personal stuff. It would be nice if i had the login/pass i use for access to everything, and different logins i can give out to friends who need specific stuff from there too without giving them full access. |

1) A built in delay or the ability to integrate with kernel level api's like in
xp/vista.. read http.sys posts.
2) ability to customize file type icons.(including favicon)
3) more friendly INI. file instead of ... (NetworkActivWebServerV3.5.NAS)
allowing more user flexability.
4)bandwidth throttling..(willn't need to lower priority of process..cool)
and (5) wishful thinking ...Built-in search engine..ha ha for those 100000
warez your serving up..just joking...
thanks for quality software..terra.. |

i voted for ssl but i think that there should also be able to password protect some files while others are not protected (so i could put some software/audio/video/documents downloads on my site.) _________________ MIKE
