By the statistical package I am guessing you mean the statistical information (available under /hits/ by default) that the server collects and displays. This will certainly not be removed, but there will be at least a little bit of more configurability to it. Chances are though that you will be able to have it just as it was before when configured correctly, and that being not too far from default configuration.
