I read microsoft's tutorial on serving media with your own web server. the article is at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/howto/articles/webserver.aspx
In it, they say you have to set the MIME Types in the server. i'll admit that I am away from my home computer (i'm at work), so i'm not 100% sure, but I don't remember seeing any setting like that in NAWS.
I read through the faq etc., but haven't seen the answer. Can NAWS be used to serve streaming video as MS describes in their article?
Many thanks for the wonderful sw. I use PIAFCTM (registered) and NAWS on a daily basis. |

Im no pro at this, but i don't think that naws can stream it. It can be uploading a movie to a client to whom it may seem as a live stream, but thats not a live stream...
if streaming is your priority then you could use http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=5691ba02-e496-465a-bba9-b2f1182cdf24&displaylang=en(Windows Media Encoder 9) Its a microsoft designed app which will listen on a set port and then stream audio video or both, from almost any input (screen window webcam line in etc) then in your html you could be linking to a asx file which would tell the clients browser were to fetch the live stream from.
The streaming doesnt have to come from the same machine, as long as the client knows were to get it from.
Im pretty good at WME so i can help with it if you need any...
