I use naws and piafctm together.

Piafctm captures the traffic and naws allows me to view the pages remotely. by the way, this is the best method for viewing captured htm.gz files - just have naws serve them and use Firefox to view.

Here's my situation. When I am viewing the captured data, sometimes the amount of traffic is overwhelming. I'm only concerned about a specific kind of content - I don't really need to read every single page accessed.

When I am at home, I simply open the jpg directory. (I have it set to sort into folders based upon file extension.) Using windows' built-in thumbnails directory view, I can quickly "scan" an entire day's worth of surfing. I hope that makes sense.

Away from home is another matter. I can't simply pull up the entire jpg directory and click each one... there are hundreds. And I don't want to create a "gallery" of ALL the images because it'd take forever to load onto my work computer (which is a pocketpc and therefore a less than optimal connection speed.)

I want to be able to surf to the jpg directory and have naws send me a rendered page containing just the last X number of pictures.

This is how webcam software works, with the one big exception: piafctm names all the files different names, and I DO want to keep the names, and ALL the images.

I just want to be able to actively monitor the directory and have it show me the most recent X (say 5 or 10) pictures. I will set it to automatically refresh, so I can sit one a page and monitor.

I know enough html to write the index.htm page and to show images IF I know the names of the files. But therein lies the problem. I was hoping someone knew of some code I could use to have it show the most recent ones.

Forgive me that it isn't a question specifically about naws. But I figured this forum was the place to ask, for y'all are familiar with the way piafctm captures and names files. And it IS a good integration of the two products.

thanks! all suggestions welcome to:
