Despite its apparent simplicity, the AutoDRO has what it takes to get the job done. Its compact size and relatively quiet operation make it suitable for polyunit deployment and educational settings. Its magnet-secured lid helps to keep its components free from disruption both during storage and during experiment.

 

An easy-release lever is provided to allow for the fly tube to be ejected. A software-controlled RGB photo-taxis light is affixed to the removable tube cap. And a toggle switch is provided for enabling the slurper.

 

The fly tube is ejected from the apparatus to allow for easy management of the flies.
