AutoDro usage requirements:

  • Drosophila (Sophophora) melanogaster or another species with a similar body size.
  • A sufficiently powerful computer. See below for system requirements.
  • One USB 2.0 or higher data port with full power output capabilities. USB 3.0 ports (usually denoted by having a blue tone) are recommended since they generally can supply more power.
  • Compatible analysis software, such as ReadySense.
  • Some models require a rechargeable 9V battery. Note: 7.2V will not work. The battery must provide 8.4 or more volts.

ReadySense system requirements:

  • A computer running Microsoft Windows XP (SP3) or higher, 32 or 64-bit.
  • A CPU with a minimum rating of 2300 (based on the benchmarks at www.cpubenchmark.net). A rating of 5000 or higher is recommended for optimal performance while using ReadySense. Basically, a minimum of AMD Phenom II Quad Core or Intel Core i5 is required to run ReadySense correctly. Although the software will run on a slower system, the tracking may be unusable, and the user interface may be unresponsive. Strong CPU power is critical for properly using ReadySense.
  • At least 380MB of freely available RAM. Depending on the operating system used, this could translate to a minimum system RAM of between 512 MB (on Windows XP 32-bit) and 4 GB (on Windows 8.1 64-bit).
  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.0 or higher. This framework is already installed on most newer Windows machines.
  • Microsoft Silverlight version 5.0 or higher. You may need to install this framework to run ReadySense.
